What is gantry crane?

A gantry crane is a type of crane that is supported by metal legs on either side of the structure, allowing it to move horizontally on a rail or track.

Gantry cranes are commonly used in shipyards, construction sites, warehouses, and freight terminals to lift heavy materials and equipment. They are often found in ports for loading and unloading containers from ships, as well as in storage yards for moving heavy components.

Gantry cranes can vary in size and capacity, with some models able to lift hundreds of tons of weight. They can be operated manually, with a series of levers and pulleys, or electronically using a control panel.

One of the main advantages of gantry cranes is their versatility and mobility. They can be easily moved and repositioned to different areas of a worksite, making them a flexible solution for lifting and moving heavy loads.
